Work on an Organic Farm
The organic farm is located in a district of Trujillo called Laredo, a mainly agricultural zone. The owners are interested in converting
their farm into an exclusively organic production center where both students and the general public can learn about the importance of taking care of and respecting our natural resources. Possible volunteer activities at this site could include:

If you choose to work in this shelter for injured and endangered animals, your volunteer duties may include:

This project occurred in December of 2006 at the Kindergarten "PRONOEI Angelitos" in the town of Villa Progreso. A small library was constructed and books and other educational materials were
given as donations. Desks and chairs, in long need of repair, were finally restored. Our hope is to continue donating not only time, but educational and construction materials to those schools in need. Depending on future donations, volunteers may be able to participate in the construction of other libraries at any of the many elementary schools in the rural areas outside of Trujillo.

Depending on the amount of donations received, we will distribute these funds during the volunteers’ time in Peru. The volunteers themselves are responsible for assessing the needs of each work site
and using the funds accordingly.
In 2007, for example, the volunteers at a school for blind and disabled children used the donation funds to purchase a large, room-length mirror which was installed in the classroom for the severely disabled students. These students spend most of their day on floor mats and the mirror assists with their physical and visual development. This is just one example. Thanks to donation we were able to give a small, material donation to each of our volunteer work sites. Each of these sites have overwhelming needs and we hope that in the future we will be able to give more!
