Learning about the Peruvian culture while offering your services as volunteers

Volunteer Fee : $

Why is a donation required to volunteer?

Most projects receive little or no governmental support and rely hugely on donations and fund raising. Volunteers are required to make a donation to ensure the continual existence of the projects. By donating money, the volunteers also allow the projects to employ local staff to help ensure the volunteers do not replace much needed local job opportunities. Your money also covers our small administration costs, your accommodation and in country support from our project service providers. VEN Peru is a registered charity in the Georgia, the United States. As a registered charity, VEN Peru is legally required to ensure that 100% of all monies received are used to promote the charitable objectives.

Our goal is to offer an affordable cultural experience and we believe our fees are lower than most other similar volunteer programs. Within our volunteer fee there are established costs-per-volunteer as well as variable costs which change according to the number of volunteers in the group. Our ideal group consists of 15-25 volunteers and the volunteer fee will vary accordingly. The fee may also change from year to year due to economic changes in Peru. The donation covers the following:

  • Coordination of accommodations on Lima upon arrival.

  • Bus fare from Lima to Trujillo.

  • Pick-up in Trujillo and transportation to host family.

  • Room and Board.

  • Three meals/day.

  • Spanish classes twice/week (optional)

  • Daily transportation to and from work site.

  • Tour of the city of Trujillo and two tours of local archeological sites.

  • Cultural orientation.

  • 24 hour/day support and emergency assistance.
